I have to say I had one of the WORST meals, I have ever eatan at the Hare Arms yesterday evening. OK I am a vegetarian and so they may not cater for many of us, however if they had looked at the state of my thin dried out nut cutlets when they served me, it was obvious. They didn’t bother to ask us whether our meals were ok and told us dogs aren’t allowed, although nothing was said when we arrived. My friend is blind and the dog is a guide dog (it is illegal to refuse admission to someone with a guide dog). The final straw was some other diners asked us to leave our table as they wanted to sit down. My previous experiences of Norfolk people is that they are rude and this just confirmed this. When we got up the pay despite me complaining, the just agreed with me the the nut cetlets were poor I got nothing off the bill.
Never will I darken the door of the Hare Arms again and will tell my friends to avoid too.
Eaten here several times in both the restaurant and bar. Food consistently good and service friendly. But if you eat in the bar you don’t get a bill. £64 for two starters, two main dishes and four drinks (two pints and two j2o’s)! So beware if you eat in the bar that you don’t get ripped off.
Lovely traditional Norfolk pub offering some really good bar food. I haven’t tried the food in the restaurant so cannot comment unfortunately. We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and it was very busy, however we still received good service. Will visit again when next in the area.
